BEYOND SURVIVAL:
TOWARD HOPE
Our Story
Idaho COBS was founded in 2015 by a mental health clinician who began noticing signs of deep trauma in clients that pointed to familial trafficking — one of the most hidden and devastating forms of abuse.
In 2019, we opened our first safe house and currently provide safe housing through two homes in Idaho. Over the years, we’ve supported more than 415 survivors in safe houses and reached hundreds more across the state through trauma-informed, survivor-led case management, crisis care, and education. From day one, our mission has been clear: to ensure that no survivor has to choose between returning to danger or sleeping on the streets.
Mission
Idaho COBS helps victims and survivors of human trafficking heal, grow, and build safe lives. We provide safe housing, crisis care, and education to prevent abuse and exploitation.
Vision
To provide comprehensive, trauma-informed services to survivors of human trafficking while educating and raising awareness within the community.
Our Values
- Dignity — Every survivor deserves to be seen and valued
- Safety — Healing begins with safe, stable housing
- Community — Change happens when we walk together
- Empowerment — Survivors are leaders in their own journey
- Integrity — We serve with transparency and accountability
“They’ve helped me slowly re-establish my relationship with my kids by helping me stay sober. I finally feel safe from predators on the street.”
– Survivor, Idaho COBS

What This Means
Our services are intensive and deeply personal. The highest needs are safe housing, transportation, and emotional support — showing that behind every number is a survivor rebuilding their life.
Our Brand Symbols
The Idaho COBS brand is built around three symbols that reflect a survivor’s journey.

The lupine grows after wildfire and represents resilience, renewal, and strength that returns after devastation.
The pinecone protects new growth until the environment is safe — a reminder that healing opens on its own timeline.
The key represents safe housing, stability, and the moment a survivor steps into a secure space where they can rebuild.
Together, these symbols honor the courage it takes to leave exploitation and the safety, dignity, and opportunity that Idaho COBS works to provide.
